ComoSelect is a free photo selection tool that makes it simple for photographers to share proof galleries with clients, collect their selections, and deliver the final edited images — all in one place.
I'm Alberto Rodella, a developer based near Lake Como in northern Italy. I built ComoSelect after spending time with photographers who were managing their entire client workflow through WhatsApp message threads, expiring WeTransfer links, and long email chains — none of which were designed for this.
I'm not a photographer myself, which meant I came to the problem with a lot of questions and no attachment to how things had always been done. Most of the decisions in ComoSelect — what to include, what to leave out, how the client side works — came directly from photographers I spoke with during the early builds: what was broken, what was missing, what made the process painful.
The core problem turned out to be simple: photographers need a way to share proof images with clients, collect selections clearly, and deliver finals. This workflow existed everywhere at a subscription price. It wasn't available free, without client accounts, without usage limits. ComoSelect was built to fill that gap.
The workflow is straightforward:
Every feature is built around making this five-step process as frictionless as possible for both the photographer and the client.
Galleries can be password-protected. Client photos are stored securely and not used for any purpose other than delivery.
Clients review and select on their phone. The gallery experience works well on any screen size.
ComoSelect does one thing well — proof-to-finals delivery. It doesn't try to be a CRM, a booking system, or a print shop.
The core workflow is free with no usage limits. No trial period, no credit card required.
ComoSelect is built for professional and semi-professional photographers who work with clients on a regular basis:
ComoSelect is an independent project — built and run by me, Alberto Rodella, from northern Italy. It's not a VC-backed startup with a growth team. It's one person trying to build something genuinely useful for photographers, and keeping it free because that's the point.
The name comes from Lake Como, one of the most photographed places in Italy and the view from my desk. It felt like the right home for a photography tool.
ComoSelect runs on Cloudflare's global network for fast load times worldwide. Photos are stored on Cloudflare R2 with no geographic restriction. Authentication uses Google OAuth via Supabase. The application is designed to be fast, reliable, and accessible from any device or connection speed.
I take data privacy seriously. Photos uploaded to ComoSelect are only accessible to the photographer who uploaded them and the clients they explicitly share a link with. Uploaded photos are never used for any commercial purpose.
